De Gustave Amos \u00e0 G\u00e9rard Frantz la personnalit\u00e9 des dirigeants d\u2019Amos a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9terminante. Esprit pionnier et de d\u00e9veloppement pour les uns, clairvoyance et volont\u00e9 d\u2019adaptation aux r\u00e9alit\u00e9s du march\u00e9 pour les autres, pendant plus de 120 ans ils ont su donner \u00e0 Metz sa Brasserie. Nous vous proposons de d\u00e9couvrir cette galerie de portraits, quelques images de la vie d\u2019Amos et une s\u00e9rie d\u2019objets publicitaires. Cet hommage serait incomplet s\u2019il ne saluait pas en m\u00eame temps les milliers d\u2019ouvriers, brasseurs et employ\u00e9s qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 les ferments naturels d\u2019une entreprise dont le nom restera attach\u00e9 \u00e0 Metz.<\/p>\n

Troisi\u00e8me enfant d\u2019une famille en comptant huit, Gustave Amos est n\u00e9 \u00e0 Wasselone en 1840. Son p\u00e8re Jean exploite successivement une fabrique de chandelles, puis de savon. Tr\u00e8s jeune Gustave s\u2019initie aux techniques de brassage chez son oncle Edouard, brasseur \u00e0 Wasselone.<\/p>\n

Il va faire de ce m\u00e9tier son destin. Apr\u00e8s un tour de France au cours duquel il se perfectionne aux techniques de brassage, Gustave s\u2019installe \u00e0 Metz en 1868. Il loue pour trois ans, puis rach\u00e8te \u00e0 Jean-Baptiste Reinert, la brasserie situ\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019angle des rues Hollandre-Piquemal et d\u2019Heltz, face \u00e0 l\u2019h\u00f4pitale Belle-Isle. Les lieux deviennent rapidement trop exigus et, en1874, la brasserie se d\u00e9place au Sablon.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
